Matthew Heads for Belgium - Updated

Saturday, July 30, 2011
Ballymena Junior Matthew Brennan heads to Ostend, Belgium on Sunday 31st July to join the Deschuytter Racing Team. Filip Deschuytter team manager has agreed to the following...
Matthew is expected around the 1st of August (his Scottish team mate is arriving that day also). He will be entered in big races as part of the team and will be allowed to race twice a week. He will be training with the team during the week. Matthew will recieve racing kit but will be allowed to train with his own Ballymena Club kit. He will live life like a pro, doing his own washing and cooking (but there is a meals on wheels service if needed). He will share a house with other team members and will have his own room. However, he may occasionally have to share at times when other riders arrive. All back up will be there (mechanical and transport to races etc..) and also massage for the riders when needed.
Matthew has asked that I extend his gratitude to everyone at Ballymena Road Club who has helped to make this trip possible.

1) Matthew arrived safely today (31st) and is staying in a house in Oudenburg just outside Ostend. He arrived at lunchtime and was shown around by his two team mates, both of whom have been there for some time already. They are both 1st year espoirs, one from Australia and the other from America.  Some Scottish lads are due to arrive on Wednesday.  First ride tomorrow into Bruges.... and yes, he has found a coffee shop already.
