Conditions for the last of the Youth TTs in 2014 where overcast and colder than normal for this time of year, but this didn't dampen the spirits of those who competed on the 2.5m Michelin-ECOS Roundabout-Michelin course. Results are as follows: 1: Breandan McCavana - 5min 56 2: Caolan Stuart - 6min 47 3: Joel McCavana - 7min 28 4: Isaac McAuley (BVRC) - 7min 44 5: Brian McAuley (BVRC) - 9min 1 Many thanks to our visitors and their parents from BVRC, in addition to support from David Dougan (push off) and Jim Burns (ECOS roundabout observer). The final youth road race for 2014 will be on Wednesday 20th August at Glarryford, where the Sandy Spence cup will be competed for. This race will also act as the first event in the Schools Cup. In a change to a previous announcement, the Schools Cup will now include the Crebilly Hillclimb that will be staged on Friday 29th August. To be eligible for the Schools Cup, competitors must be a member of any Cycling Ireland affiliated club and attend a school in the Ballymena Borough. Points will be awarded for all finishers. The school represented by those riders who have accumulated the most points for both events will win the cup. There will also be an individual rider winner cup for the two events. Riders who don't attend a Ballymena school are still warmly invited to participate in both events. All riders will be awarded a finishers medal.
