Tuesday 6th May. To celebrate the Giro coming to Belfast, Chain Reaction Cycles are hosting an evening at their Ballyclare showroom tonight Tuesday 6th May.  
They will be offering refreshments as well as tours around the main warehouse.

Wednesday 7th May. Northstone club race series. Ballymena RC will hold their Rex Bonar cup 25 miles handicapped road race over five laps of the Broughshane, Lisnamurrican circuit at 7pm. The youth section will be in action over two laps, 10 miles of the same circuit. The youths are competing for the Clarke’s tyres trophy.
The chief marshall for the race is Alan Blair and he will be assisted by Declan Butler, Sammy Kerr, Geoff Allen, Bobby Stewart and Geoff Bell.

On the theme of marshalling - Many thanks to all the Ballymena Road Club members who helped marshall and supervise groups in last Sunday’s big Italian bike ride sportive event which was part of the build up to the Giro D’Italia.

Saturday 10th May. GIRO visits Ballymena. The eagerly awaited visit of the Giro D’Italia takes place this Saturday when the race passes through Ballymena en route from Belfast to the Causeway coast. Local roads will close from 09:30 to 12:30 for pre-events and for the race to take place. The actual race should be going through the town just before midday. The proposed route includes: A26 from Antrim, Seven Towers Roundabout, Antrim Road, Queen Street, Harryville Bridge, North Road, Ballymoney Road, A26 to Ballymoney.
The council and BRC would appreciate it very much if all club members, friends and family can help provide a guard of honour on Harryville Bridge. The club currently have a welcome banner in place on the front of Algram’s shop at Harryville bridge.
