Ulster Women's RR League Information

Thursday, February 20, 2014
Cycling Ulster Women's Commission are delighted to announce the Ulster Women's Road Race League for 2014.  The League to encourage more women into racing, so if you are currently open or club racing or new to racing, then why not give this a go!  A Limited Competition License rather than Full Competition License is required.

For more information see http://www.cyclingireland.ie/page/membership/types-of-membership

The race distances will be under 40 miles.  Depending on the promoting club's race schedule (and in some cases, number of entries) the race may be run as a combined master's/women's race rather than separate women's race.  Masters are those aged 50+ and their races are run in the same format as the women's in terms of distance, license required, etc.

The League will be made up of 9 (hopefully more) races, with the first one being the Phoenix GP this Sunday, 23rd February.  As more events are confirmed, a final decision on the structure of the League will be made by the end of April.  This may allow for dropping the results from the worst one or two events. Currently we have confirmation of the following events in the League so far:

Sunday 23rd February: Phoenix GP
