Workman wins Stan Finlay memorial 10 miles time trial.

Ballymena Road Club – Northstone – cyclists held their first club time trial of the season last Wednesday night when the Stan Finlay memorial 10 miles event took place at Woodgreen.

Conditions were probably amongst the best ever for this opening event and the 39 entrants all recorded fast times.

Steven Workman, the 2010 BRC time trials best all rounder champion was fastest with 21 minutes 52 seconds which was just 11 seconds slower than his personal best recorded in 2010.

Tommy Wilson was second with 22.26 with Ryan Currie recording his best time since 2006 to take third with 22.43. Bobby Currie beat his 2010 time by 2 minutes 40 seconds when he clocked 26 minutes 10 seconds to win the handicap section.

The fastest visitor was David Heagney (East Tyrone) 22.01 while the Ulster women's association league event was won by Rachael Withers (Raphael) in 24 minutes 50 seconds.
