The Interclub series reached the halfway point on Wednesday night with round three being hosted by Ballymoney CC. The event was held over four laps of a rolling 6.7 miles circuit at the Vow road between Ballymoney and Rasharkin. The entrants were to cover this course four times.

Ballymena Road Club – Chain Reaction Cycles -  fielded a full team of ten riders and once again the race was handicapped into four groups separated by 5 minutes overall from front to back.

The front group saw strong riding throughout from Alan Blair of BRC, which made life difficult for the other groups to eat into their advantage. Going into the last lap the first group still had a significant advantage of around 1 minute 40 seconds however, with BRC helping to drive the amalgamated  2nd, 3rd and Scratch bunches the race eventually came together before the finish. This led to a fast uphill dash for the line which was lead out strongly by Ryan Bankhead.

On the line however Steven McAllister (Ballymoney) came through for the host club to take the win. BRC's best finisher was David Dougan in an excellent 5th with Chris Beattie, series leader Connor Young and Ryan Bankhead all making the top ten.

Claire wins, Emma third in ladies race.
In the ladies race a good turnout meant that they were able to have a separate race over 3 laps. The ladies rode hard with no one able to break away and once again it was Ballymena’s Claire Gillespie who took the win with a strong sprint finish. BRC’s Emma Smyth took a superb third place.
