South Derry club Spires CC hold the Spires Grand Prix on the Loup circuit on Saturday 2nd March. They will be promoting a handicapped A1-A3 race, an A4 Race, and a combined race for women and the 50+ Masters.Registration will be from 9:00am at Loup GAC on the Ballyneil Road, Loup, Ballyronan. The first race will start at 10.00am. The entry fee is £12.Race 1 for A* A1, A2 and A3 ¨C will be 7 laps, 56 miles (70 rider limit) Race 2 for A4 only, 5 laps, 40 miles (70 rider limit) Race 3 for Over 50¡äs and women, 2 laps, 16 miles. Newry wheelers will have a full entry for their John Haldane Memorial on Sunday 3rd March. Two races will be on offer; Race one will cater for A1¡¯s, A2¡¯s and A3¡¯s (5 laps of course approximately 48 miles) and will be held in a handicapped format with a small advantage given to each category to keep the racing competitive for everyone. Race two will be a mass start for A4¡¯s only and will be over 4 laps approximately 38 miles.Also on the programme is a masters (over 50s) and Ladies Race, there are still places available for these events and riders can sign on and pay on the day. The race distance will be 3 laps, 29 miles. A club competition licence or higher is needed for this.

Ballymena Road Club members Sean and Marlene Wright have organised a charity fund raising dance on Saturday 23rd March at Ballymena Rugby Club with music by "The Liberals Band¡±It will be a birthday celebration for Marlene who has one of those birthday¡¯s with a zero at the end of it, and that¡¯s all I¡¯m saying!The clue is that it will be a 60¡¯s and 70¡¯s "Fancy Dress¡± affair.  Members of the following clubs will be in attendance: Ballymena Road Club, Ballymena Rugby Club, Michelin Cycling Club, Ballymena Runners and Bann Valley Road Club. Come along and dance to one of the best live bands, - "The Liberals¡± who are a five piece group consisting of bass and lead guitars, keyboards, drums and are led by charismatic front man Stephen Butler, who is an excellent vocalist and has been singing and performing for ten years now. Recent career accolades consist of performances alongside Westlife, Atomic Kitten and M People and his talent has taken him to some of the best stages in the UK to include Wembley Arena, Manchester NEC, The Apollo Theatre and our very own Odyssey Arena. Road Club Registration continues on Monday 4th March at Rex Bonar House.Ballymena Road Club¡¯s membership has already reached a total of 121 so far this year. The March signing on meeting will be held on Monday 4th March from 7.15pm until 9.00pm.All cyclists who are intending taking part on the weekend club runs or in club and open races should have already registered but late comers should avail of the next meeting because, after that, everyone will just have to use the Cycling Ireland web-site to renew their memberships and licences.
