Big Race Dates Secured!

Thursday, December 27, 2012

Ballymena Road Club – Chain Reaction Cycles – racing committee are delighted to learn that the club has secured dates on the domestic calendar for their two big open race promotions again for 2013.
The Wallace Caldwell Memorial and Red Hand Trophy events are now well established and are both considered to be classic events, both in terms of their physical challenge and also by the esteem in which the participants view the races.
Even so there is an increasing demand for race dates, as each season a new club is founded and before very long they too want to promote new races in their respective areas.
In recent seasons Carn Wheelers and the Spires club in the South Derry area have proved their worth and, along with the likes of the Duffin Transport club at Loughguille and the rejuvenated Ballymoney CC, all now have open race dates on the calendar, so nothing is taken for granted.
Well done to Ballymena Road Club’s hard working race secretary Hugh McCullough for securing the fixtures for another season.
The Wallace Caldwell memorial road race is on the calendar for 23rd March 2013 while the Red Hand Trophy has a 3rd August date.
