This week is again busy for Ballymena Road Club as they attempt to clear the backlog of postponed events in the Northstone backed series of club races.

The Combat cancer cup 25 miles time trial was re-arranged for Monday night 13th August with the 5 miles time on the calendar for tonight Wednesday 15th August at Woodgreen.

The McQuigg cup 50 miles time trial has been re-scheduled for this coming Saturday 18th August at Woodgreen. This race will start at 9am sharp. Those who wish to take part are asked to confirm their entry with Hugh McCullough to help with the planning of the event.

On Sunday 19th August Bann Valley will hold their annual Marie Curie cancer care charity "Tour of the north coast.” This event starts from Portglenone community centre at 10am sharp.

Monday 20th August.

Ballymena Road Club’s sponsors Chain Reaction Cycles have invited club members and officials to their premises on Monday 20th August at 6.30pm.

Their invite comes from Simon Cordner and reads "We recently decided to open the doors behind the scenes of CRC to some of our friends/supported clubs – allowing you to see ‘how we do it’
Over the last year I’ve found that everyone I show around finds it an amazing experience to have a tour of our main site in Doagh, allowing them to see how we stock, store, pick and process your order.
I’d like to invite BRC to a night of their own at CRC. We’ll show you around – let you chat to some of our staff and ask us a few golden questions.
This is a night for everyone – old and young as I think everyone finds it a great experience. We’re also actively recruiting – so anyone who fancies working for us this is a great chance to see round!”
CRC can comfortably accommodate 20 people for the visit. Please contact Alan Blair on 07860 227 560 to book your place. If more than 20 people wish to attend then committee members, race officials and club helpers will be given preference.

Ballymena Road Club’s final race of the season is the Will Henry cup 20 miles road race on Wednesday 22nd August. This year’s event will take place on a new course. Riders are to assemble at Glarryford as usual. They then will ride to Dunminning cross roads, turn right and race up the Killycowan road before turning left on to Carclinty road. Then it’s a fast downhill stretch and left on to Duneoin road before another left turn on to Dunminning road and back to complete the lap at Dunminning cross roads. The final lap will see the riders race back to the usual finishing line at Glarryford.
