Interclub League

Monday, June 25, 2012

Bann Wheelers promoted the fourth round event of the six race inter-club road racing league series on their Shinny Road course at Coleraine last Tuesday evening. At one point, prior to the race starting, a torrential rain shower threatened to ruin the proceedings. However racing did get underway after a short delay.

The handicapper was kind to the front riders, on this occasion, with the scratch men failing to reach the front of the race. Stuart Laverty (Ballymoney) took the honours with J Taylor (Carn Wheelers) second. Ballymena Road Club junior rider Ryan Shaw produced one of his best performances to date to take third position. Ballymoney’s Aaron Dickey finished fourth. (5) Liam O’Connor (Bann Valley) (6) Micky Kelly (Carn) (7) Nigel Kernohan (BRC) (8) Quinton McFall (BRC)

LEAGUE Micky Kelly’s sixth place has propelled him to top spot in the league with 22 points. However Ballymena Road Club’s "scratch” riders Ryan Bankhead and Chris Beattie are breathing down his neck in equal second place, just two points behind, with 20 points each. Nigel Kernohan is next best BRC in sixth place overall with 14 points
