Michelin’s team Bibsport cyclists had a turnout of 76 riders for their Spring tours last Saturday morning. There was a choice of route and distance with the 30 strong touring group completing a 44 miles ride to Ballymena, Doury road, Cloughmills, Ballyveely road, Magherahoney, Loughguille and Armoy before the return leg via Clough, Rathkenny, Knockan road and Broughshane.The "A” group had a similar route to Cloughmills, Loughguille and the outskirts of Armoy before going on to Ballycastle and over the Ballypatrick forest climb and on to Cushendall and the coast road to Carnlough and back in through the Braid and Broughshane to the MAC. This was a total of 72 miles and gave the riders a sample of some of the route which will be used for next month’s Red Hand Trophy road race.The Michelin chairman Jackson Currie thanks all those who participated and extends an invitation for everyone to complete the same rides again this Saturday 31st March at 10am. The Michelin club commence their mid-week club runs this week from the Michelin Athletic Club, Woodside road, Ballymena. These Tuesday and Thursday night rides will depart at 6pm.
