Luke & Katharine are club champs 2019!

Tonight saw BRC host their annual Club Championship Road Race over 3 laps (27 miles) of the Knockan circuit in Broughshane. The scratch event split early with an initial 6 riders breaking clear from the bunch. By the final lap the group, down to 5 riders had established over a 2 minute lead. Despite numerous attacks by Luke Mcmullan and Shaun Carey, the breakaway stayed together, and fought out a sprint to the line. Luke McMullan took a narrow win from Shaun Carey on the line to be crowned men's Champion for 2019. It took a photo finish to separate Katharine Smyth and Eileen Burns for Club Ladies Champion, with Smyth just taking it!
