Eileen rides World Champ TT!!

25 September 2018
BRC rider Eileen Burns made her way to the finish line at the World Championship TT today in Innsbruck, Austria, after a fantastic year for her on the bike. Afterwards Eileen said  'I came and rode with what I had on the day and placed 41st. By no means a result I want to publish, but thatís what I had to give on the day'. 2018 has been an amazing year for Eileen, starting with her selection for the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia. After a season which lasted almost 9 months and saw her travel to the other side of the globe, it is not surprising that Eileen finds herself tired. As a club we are immensely proud of her, she has done herself and Ballymena Road Club proud in 2018. She is a fantastic role model for any young cyclist to look up to. 5 years ago Eileen was a relative novice to cycling, but in that time, through hard work and determination has elevated herself to the pinnacle of ladies cycling in Ireland. In doing so she has managed also to hold down a full time job as an Occupational therapist.

Well done Eileen.......go and enjoy a well earned break!!
