2018 Billy Kerr Sportive takes place!!!

Saturday, August 18, 2018
The 5th Billy Kerr Sportive took place today. The annual event, hosted by Ballymena Road Club offered a choice of 3 routes over 67, 115 & 150km, all taking in the picturesque North Antrim Coast. This year’s event attracted a total of 200 participants from all over the UK and Ireland. Riders from as far afield as Limerick, Banbridge, Ballinamallard and Enniskillen travelled to take part in the event. All riders safely made it home, and after all of the rain from the past few days, the weather today was mainly favourable.

The Sportive has been running since 2013, in memory of local legendary cyclist, the late Billy Kerr, and has established itself as a regular event in the Irish cycling calendar. Ballymena Road Club would like to thanks everyone who took part and made this years sportive the best yet! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the hard working volunteers who helped with the feed stations and at the finish. Without volunteers events like this wouldn't take place!

This year's event was in aid of Autism NI. Photos and full report to follow!!!
