Silver Fun Tour

Fifty four cyclists took part in Saturday’s "Fun Tour” from Rex Bonar house.
This was ride eight in the thirteen week series and represented the first opportunity for those with full attendance to earn their silver medals.
The touring section completed a 38 miles ride to Gracehill, Ballybollen, Carnearney, Crosskeys, Millquarter, Toomebridge, Bellaghy Drumbolg, Innishrush and Portglenone. 
Derek Dougan’s "B” group run went to Antrim, Crumlin, Glenavy, Dundrod, Sevenmile straight, Antrim, Randalstown and Kilnock; a 55 miles ride at 17.5mph.
The "A” group had just 8 riders on Saturday and they completed a 66 miles ride at 18.8mph. Their route took in Toomebridge, Ballyronan, Loup, Moneymore, Cookstown and then the climb to Lough Fea.
Then it was on to Draperstown, Tobermore, Maghera and Portglenone.
The fourteen successful silver medallists on Saturday were:
Sammy Connor, Bobby Currie, Michael Diamond, Alan Donegan, Rhonda Donegan, Sean Elliott, Sammy Kerr, Jackie Knowles,  Pius McKernan, Bernie Monaghan, Paddy Mooney, Martin Ruddy, Gary Simms and Richard Wilson.
Three riders completed their fifth tour for their bronze medals. They were:
Christina Clarke, Derek Dougan and Paul McWilliams.
The Mayor will host a presentation in the Town Hall at the conclusion of the series.
