BRC's Clare fifth in Mid Ulster GP at Cookstown.

Sunday, May 3, 2015
Almost twenty women showed up for the ladies event at Sunday’s Mid Ulster GP which was promoted by Harps CC on the Cookstown, the Rock and Sandholes circuit.
Although the pace was high the women stayed together with the result being decided by a bunch sprint, which was taken by Joanne Regan of Termoneeny from Mairead McGurk of Carn Wheelers and relative newcomer Lisa Cameron of Madigan. Alwynne Shannon  (Newry Wheelers) and Clare Gillespie of Ballymena completed the top five.
Another Ballymena Road Club lady Eileen Burns recorded a time of 23 minutes 37 seconds to win the ladies section at Sunday’s "Ernie Magwood super six” 10 miles time trial at Toomebridge. This was a terrific performance on what Eileen describes as a very hard day. "We had a headwind start and it was a slow draggy course, not to mention the hail stones!”
